Backend Engineer

Own the API and data layer behind Lumina's simulation engine. You'll design schemas, build Go services, and keep the gRPC path to our Python AI service fast and reliable under load.

What you'll do

  • Build HTTP + gRPC services in Go (chi, pgx, protobufs)
  • Design PostgreSQL + pgvector schemas and migrations
  • Integrate billing (Dodo), email (SendGrid), and storage (S3)
  • Keep latency predictable under load; add the right observability
  • Partner with the AI team on the LangGraph ↔ backend contract

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of Go (or a strong systems language background + Go willingness)
  • Production PostgreSQL experience: indexes, migrations, query plans
  • Comfort with gRPC / protobuf and HTTP semantics
  • Solid grasp of auth flows, rate limiting, and idempotency

Nice to have

  • EKS and Kubernetes
  • pgvector / retrieval infra
  • Working with LLM pipelines
